10.7 Xenoslayers
From time to time a creature will become so powerful, that it actually becomes a threat to the general population and the ecosystem. It is unknown why this happens, but a team of scientists and researchers at Fantom Laboratories have tasked themselves with monitoring various fauna for these mutations, both to warn the Sector at large and to get to the bottom of the mystery of why this is happening. They have turned to the spacer community for assistance in this effort and have offered payment for eliminating these potentially hazardous lifeforms before they disrupt the local habitat or an entire planet. Fantom Laboratories have facilities in: Biloxan - The Planet Krell Janilyn - The Planet Kovalar Atilan - The Planet Delphi. They broadcast any discoveries on the sector-wide Conflict channel which you can opt into by typing CONFIG MUTECONFLICTCHANNEL OFF as it is muted by default. You can also see a list of all active Xeno Creatures with the command XENOLIST. XENO CREATURES - - - - - - - - - - - The creatures themselves are assigned a designation, such as Empyreal-2189, when discovered and can range in strength from Betarch class to Omega class. These classifications indicate the number of affixes or unusual mutations the creature has: Betarch - 1 affixes Apex - 2 affixes Omega - 3 affixes As of yet there is no indication that possessing one affix makes another impossible to manifest, so a creature with Vengeful and Berserking affixes for example is entirely possible. Some known affixes are as follows: Poisonous - they will reduce all healing effectiveness on their target Vengeful - they will retaliate after each hit, reflecting a portion of the taken damage Toxic - they will afflict with a group of balance slowing affs Berserking - the more wounded they are, the more damage and attack speed they gain Elusive - they will have a chance to dodge your attacks (like the DODGE talent) Ravenous - they will heal for a portion of the damage they deal You can review the full list of known affixes with the command AFFIX LIST. The Xeno creatures' affixes are visibly apparent when you LOOK at or PROBE them while in the room with them. All will be vulnerable to Class insta-kills, if you're able to pull one off. Most if not all of them will be aggressive and attack you on sight, so take care if you are travelling in an area where Betarch or Apex creatures have been sighted. XENO SLAYER REWARDS - - - - - - - - - - - Fantom Laboratories representatives at any Fantom lab, the Gnomon Institute, or the FeTek armory will accept the slain corpses of any identified creature brought in by a Xenoslayer. As reward for the effort involved in bringing down these creatures, Fantom will issue you a requisition token for gear from their personal armory. Once you have a token, head to a Fantom lab and use the following command: REDEEM <WEAPONS/armor slot> i.e. REDEEM TOOLKIT or REDEEM TORSO While not meant as a solo effort, it is possible to do so if you are talented enough. Much like regular mobs, there is no “claiming” of a xeno creature, and no PK cause is generated by someone joining a fight and landing a kill. Do not hesitate to reach out to your fellow Faction members for assistance! Fantom Laboratories thanks you in advance for your help in keeping the Sector a secure and safe place for all.
