10.5 Xenozoology
There are many creatures and animals throughout the Starmourn sector, and more than a few scientists and researchers are interested in crowdsourced information about the more exotic breeds. The current commands relating to xenozoology are: XENOZOOLOGY SCAN <target> Attempt to scan a lifeform. XENOZOOLOGY DATABANK [ID|<filter>] Access your database. XENOZOOLOGY DATABANK NEXT Open your next unread entry. XENOZOOLOGY BOUNTY Get information about (kill) bounties. XENOZOOLOGY TROPHY Activate your RoamTek Trophymaker. -------------------- XENOZOOLOGY DATABANK -------------------- You are able to build a catalogue of the animals and monsters in Starmourn, each with its own unique databank entry (powered by RoamTek!) To obtain a catalogue entry, simply find a creature you are interested in, and type XENOZOOLOGY SCAN <target>. After a few seconds, you will have scanned the creature, and obtained a new entry in your databank (a list you can look at by typing XENOZOOLOGY DATABANK. Typing XENOZOOLOGY by itself will reveal even more information. Often, scanning requires cooperation - the scan is a channeled action, meaning you need to stay alive in order to complete it. Aggressive creatures will attack you if you scan them. Bring a friend! Furthermore, not all the information will be available in a Xenozoology entry, at least at first. But the more players in the game scan a particular breed of animal, the more information will be unlocked and available to everyone. ------------------ XENOZOOLOGY BOUNTY ------------------ This is a daily task, renewed every sync. A random creature will be listed and your task is simply to find one and kill it. You will usually be rewarded with a random weapon or armor mod, but certain promos will see this replaced with some kind of promo token e.g. A miniature Mission Control missile or a love token. If you have scanned the creature in question, you can see where they live by searching your xenozoo databank for them! ------------------ XENOZOOLOGY TROPHY ------------------ This command will only show up if you have a RoamTek Trophymaker, which is a promo item. If you have one, you may activate it before killing a creature and it will produce a taxidermy version of the thing to display wherever you like!
