7.16 SCC
Starmourn utilizes two different councils comprised of passionate and dedicated players to assist admin in the development process when new game systems are being added. For reasons, both happened to be called SCC: the Starmourn Combat Council and the Starmourn Cultural Conversation. The former applies to PvP and the latter to all matters Cultural.
Both councils utilize an open induction process, detailed below. Players are allowed to sit on multiple councils simultaneously.
To remain on these councils, you should be actively contributing to discussions on a regular basis. You should also be playing the game regularly, though we will make exceptions for players who contribute meaningfully to discussions but do not for one reason or the other have time to play as much as they'd like. The decision to remove someone from the Council rests with Staff, but members democratically have a say in the decision, if they wish to voice an opinion.
Starmourn Cultural Conversation
-------------------------------
The Starmourn Cultural Conversation is a group of players passionate about design and crafting, organizing cultural events, performance, and other related systems. The main purpose of the Cultural Conversation is to have a place where staff can propose changes to relevant systems and have them vetted by knowledgeable players before they go live.
To apply to the Cultural Conversation, submit an ISSUE to nominate yourself. You should:
- Have a Discord account, as all council chatter is done there.
- Be actively engaging in the Starmourn cultural scene, be it crafting and design, organizing cultural events, performance, or other related activities.
- Include in your Issue one new addition or improvement to the game that you think would benefit the cultural experience in Starmourn.
- Be able to engage in respectful dialog with fellow players and admin, even when disagreements arise.
The current members of the Cultural Conversation are: Poet, Shulamit, Savvy, Syzygy, Lupisentia, Afesotiniular, and Holgorath.
Starmourn Combat Council
------------------------
The Starmourn Combat Council is a group of players who are passionate about Starmourn PvP. The main purpose of the Combat Council is to have a place where staff can propose combat changes and have them vetted by knowledgeable players before they go live. After all, combat is very complex and seemingly small changes can have large ramifications.
If you think you have what it takes to contribute unbiased and informed opinions about Starmourn PvP, you can submit an ISSUE to nominate yourself for the Council. You should:
- Have a Discord account, as all council chatter is done there.
- Be actively engaging in PvP on a regular basis.
- Ideally have first-hand experience PvPing as more than one class, either multi-classing on your main, or with alts.
- Be genuinely interested in the health of the game and overall balance.
- Include in your issue 3 COMBAT BALANCE changes you think would make for a better PvP experience for everyone.
You by no means need to be a top-tier combatant to apply. The Combat Council will be democratically consulted on including new members, but ultimately the decision rests with Staff to decide who to invite.
Do not apply to the Combat Council if:
- You want to strictly advocate for changes that raise power level of your main class or whatever class, if buffed, could turn the tide for your faction.
- You cannot communicate or listen respectfully, or you cannot take "no" for an answer.
- You just want a closer line to Staff outside of Classlead rounds.
The current members of the Combat Council are: Aphra, Mystor, Jaidyn, Holgorath, and Xuthori.
