Strike the Earth!

Welcome to April, Sector!

Archaeology is here and with it, a few archaeologically-relevant items in Mission Control!

Before we launch into it, I want to mention that we've now removed the '25,000 marks' and 'a crate of workshop parts' from Mission Control. Additionally, Marks were previously quite overvalued by the system, meaning the board would not reset when there was just Marks and other low-value items on the board, since it considered the "value" of Marks to be very high indeed! The system now values marks much lower. This should help you more easily find the things you're looking for!

Lastly, we'll be picking up the tradition once again of performing mid-month refreshes of the promotional content, which we paused for Q1. So get your shwag while it's hot!

This month we have a brand new artifact to make your wildernesses and digsites a bit easier to navigate:

* Wilderness Survey Access (wilderness_surveys): Your personal wildernesses and digsites have a MAP.

As for items, we have a fantastic line up of new items to help your digs, or help you get in the archaeological spirit:

* A Galactic Pilot special edition of Buried Secrets (1 tradein credits): Show the cosmos the depth of your expertise as a daring archaeologist with the latest Galactic Pilot special edition of Buried Secrets. Make your ship stand out with these designs inspired by the wonders of ages past.
* An archaeological field work contract (100 tradein credits): Enjoying working with someone at your archaeological dig site? Lock them in. For life. GIVE this contract to one of your dig site team members and they will always be offered to you when initiating a dig site, on top of the normal randomized selection of possible team members! They will retain their Trait and Profession. You can have a maximum of three contracted dig site team members.
* A personal archaeological suspension device (20 tradein credits): This device allows individuals to preserve fossils and fragments for their own private collections. This device can store up to five fragments or fossils. Once preserved inside, the items cannot be removed. A device which has been set to store fossils cannot store any fragments, and vice versa.

And, for those of you venturing back into Wildernesses, a return customer:

- Hardened Surveyor (hardened_surveyor): You upgrade your triangulation gear with the latest tech, enhancing its durability. OOC Note: will not prevent object decay, simply prevent charges from being used.

Returning to the Mission Control board we also have:

- A void-black nightstalker costume with huge white fangs (15 tradein credits): A costume for hiding the wearer's mindsim identity - and also all of their clothes!

Lastly, get your dig team contracts going more easily -- and much more -- with this month's Big Prizes:

- Every 50 shots: 50 credits
- Every 100 shots: an archaeological field work contract
- Every 1000 shots: bhrk_life_support
- Every 1500 shots: a free class token

You'll also have a chance to win: 100 Credits, 100000 Marks, 16 Credits, 25 Credits, 50000 Marks, a collectible card packet, a large artifact, a major artifact, a minor artifact, a random autofeeder, a random fish baggie, a random item, a random minipet, a random personal genekit or zine, a random room unlock, a random ship customization or zine, a random tells modulator, a random vehicle, and a small artifact

That's all folks, see you in the field!

Regards,
The Starmourn Team
