Hello again Sector!
Welcome to March! This month, we are celebrating Ships in Starmourn with a host of new items, artifacts, and THREE new shops on Iota where you can get your hands on premium ship furnishings and other flavor items, including some fantastic stations to spice up your long journeys together and some loveable droids. Hats off to Argus and Marra for their fine work on these shops and their loveable shopkeepers!
A reminder that, with the Cosmpiercer changes, we have made it so that ALL ITEMS aboard your ship are preserved when your insured ship is destroyed. After the ship is rebuilt, everything will be right where you left it, in the same state as it was. Just, you know, make sure it's insured!
This month, you'll find some brand new artifacts on the Mission Control board:
* CosmCloak (cosmcloak): Hostile generators no longer fire upon the linked ship while the Cosmpiercer is Immune.
* Efficient Skipdrive 20% (efficient_skip_2): Skipdrive tricks performed by the linked ship cost -20% capacitor kear.
* Interdiction Web +1 (web_range): The effect range of interdiction webs deployed by the linked ship is increased by +1
Note that the Efficient Skipdrive artifact comes in 3 tiers, and while it's available to win on Mission Control, all 3 tiers can also be purchased via normal Credits without an Iron Elite Membership.
And on to the new items you can pick up:
* A gemstone special issue of The Galactic Pilot (1 tradein credits): Add a touch of glam and dazzle to your ship with the latest gemstone themed issue of The Galactic Pilot. Turn your vessel into a jewel in the cosmos with these designs inspired by gems, crystals, and all other manner of beautiful things.
* A VIP docking permit (10 tradein credits): Herald your ship's arrival in style with a customized docking message.
* A "Chrome Days" edition of the Chr0meLyfe Zine (1 tradein credits): Hot off the presses - This new Chr0meLyfe Zine: Chrome Days edition zine is a rarely distributed periodical which delves into the ever-growing new subculture of integrating chrome technology into mind, body, and fashion. This edition reviews the hottest trend: Shimmering purple with sleek chrome augments.
* A 'Fancy Has the Bones' issue of The Galactic Pilot (1 tradein credits): Initially nothing more than a small disc of polished metal, this familiar object is recognizable to just about anyone as a 'zine, a disposable data stream, often published month-by-month. This 'zine appears to be the latest issue of The Galactic Pilot, a periodical chock full of information about spaceships and those who fly them. The Galactic Pilot, or TGP as it is commonly known, is the go-to subscription for anything spaceship related, from racing news to DIY tips and tricks to the latest and shiniest models from the galaxy's most refined shipyards.
* A Cloudloft 950x ergonomic Captain's hoverchair (15 tradein credits): An amalgam of fine metals and high quality leather make up this Cloudloft ergonomic hoverchair. From top to bottom it appears crafted for the comfort of any race with adjustable cushions to support for any kind of back, shoulders, trunk and rear end. A panel flips out from under the left, heavily padded, armrest with an array of controls. Glancing around the back of the chair, you can see standardized leads designed to directly link up to the systems of any major ship manufacturer with room to spare for customization work.
Returning to the Mission Control, we have some well-traveled ship artifacts:
- Quantum Cargo Nets (quantum_cargo_nets): Automatically recovers space junk from space entities you kill so long as you have cargo space.
- Deep Space Weapon Module (ship_weapon_falloff): Ship Weapon damage falloff reduced by 33% when shooting targets further than optimal range. In other words, allows you to do more damage to targets further away.
- Ship Aim Assist (ship_weapon_range): Adds lenience to the optimum range of your ship weapons, extending the optimal range to +1/-1 SU. Does not have any effect on the damage falloff when outside this range.
As well as some returning items:
- A "Help Wanted" poster (100 tradein credits): Inspire confidence in your physical shop by hiring an assistant! Your new assistant can provide you with a design quest right from the comfort of your shop, and they will also increase the attractiveness of your shop to would-be denizens on the lookout for something to buy!
- A spatial definition device (20 tradein credits): SpaceCase Interiors, an interior design firm, announces the release of their spatial definition device. The device makes onboard ship renovations a breeze, working within the physical bounds of your vessel's hull to define a room any way you like! (The spatial definition device does not work on rooms not registered to you. SpaceCase Interiors takes no responsibility for any attempts to deface public property.)
- A stasis field (20 tradein credits): This coveted piece of over-engineered technology that has been designed to perfectly preserve a sentimental or highly prized item in a weightless stasis field, untouchable by anyone but the owner. (Cannot contain resetting items.)
