Re: Dominion/Ascendancy conflict.

Addressed to: Lord Commander Vega T'rvati

In regards to the conflict between the Dominion and Ascendancy:

The Guardians of Celestine (myself, Guardian Shardclaw and Guardian Grek) would like to humbly apologize to Lord Commander Vega T'rvati for our willingness to believe the worst in both you and the Dominion with no evidence of wrongdoing and without attempting to discuss the issue with you first.

We're sorry. I'm sorry.

We now recognize that we should have validated Van's claims regarding this situation. The version of events that we were given did not in fact match what actually happened, and unfortunately we believed the former Impera's version of the story, in which the Dominion was playing games with him and refusing to remove his enemy status despite his fine being paid. The real version of events is much simpler - Van was never told that he would not be unenemied or that his status was up in the air in any way. He needed only to wait until his time was up, as is the case in any situation of CAC hacking (and his added charge of graffiti). Instead of doing that, he attempted to use his position as Impera and Picram's enemy status as leverage to try to get himself unenemied sooner, and wholly misrepresented the situation to the Guardian Prime, which set off all this conflict.

We take full responsibility for getting this wrong and we would like to note to the public that the situation was never what we believed it to be or claimed it to be here. The Lord Commander and everyone else in Song only reacted to a perceived unprovoked attack and slander with force, as the Dominion does. The blood of the guards is therefore at least partially on our hands because we did not try diplomacy before reacting.

I have spoken to the Lord Commander and we have come to terms that will hopefully be fair to everyone who was involved in this mess. We will learn from this and we will endeavor to validate all perceived attacks on us or our citizens before we take action in the future. None of us are perfect, and we are not so stubborn as to refuse to admit when we are in the wrong. Fortunately every situation where we mess up allows us an opportunity for growth and self reflection and hopefully will allow us to respond better to such scenario so that this needs never happen again.

Thank you for your attention,
Clover Moonchild
Guardian Envoy
