Your dissension.

Dear Argo,

You balk at the Guardians' decision regarding your enemy status, but you make a mistake. That mistake is simple: no such decision has been made. You are arguing against something that doesn't exist.

Unlike the Dominion and its Lord Commander, no single individual holds all the power in the Ascendancy. Situations as serious as yours would require an agreement of the whole Council, and none as such was made yet. I should know, being a Council member and all! Last time your matter was brought up in the Council, you didn't seem interested in your enemy status being revoked so we agreed to leave the discussion of specifics up for later, when or should I say - if your interest changes.

I'm glad it has changed now but you also must understand, your talk with Ata was just that, a talk - without any official statements being made yet. In fact you managed to persuade him that his opinion regarding your punishment may have been unreasonable and that he will revise it, so I see no reason to complain!

Regarding Sslenick, make no mistake: it's no secret that the Ascendancy officially acknowledges Eckin as a sapient race. Every Eckin, Sslenick included of course, has the same priviledges as any other peaceful visitor or resident of the Ascendancy. That he was kept in a cage against his will is a crime, especially because he was held in it for so regrettably long.

The specifics and reasons why he was not released sooner aren't something I should discuss in a public news post, but feel free to talk to me in private for a concise explanation!

Thank you for your time,
Ren
