Strange 'alien' skull proof of Ishvana influence? Relic of a lost civilization? Prank gone too far?
Spacers across the sector are becoming increasingly worried as they keep getting "assaulted" by this strange artifact, which turns up in their pockets, on stations, or wherever else it pleases - witnesses state the skull "seems to be sentient, or something" and it's "really spooky, man!" Some say that the skull has tried to talk to them, sending messages of destruction and psychic assault. Onlookers in the Temple of T'rath have even stated that the skull reacts to kith, both void and star kith, and that using kith around it is a "not so great idea" and "should be avoided". Witnesses also say that licking the skull is "not advisable" though this reporter is not certain why they ever would have tried in the first place.
The latest news updates are reporting that an intrepid group of Ascendancy adventurers, led by scientists Akiko and Ariassa, Grek, and Guardian Prime Clover, later joined by Guardian Shardclaw, brought the spooky specimen to the Blood Ark for some answers, though sadly, they left with only more questions. They were later joined by a group of Ironbound, notably Holgorath, Rylek, and Sabika, who were similarly unable to make any definitive conclusions on its origins.
Scientist Akiko, when contacted, had this to say: "At the moment, we still have far more questions than answers - our investigation is very much in the preliminary phase. So, let me put forward to the sector the questions most in need of consideration: We are not yet certain what species the skull is from, beyond its passing and artificial resemblance to the Jin, so any information on what -species- it is would be very welcome."
When reached out for advice on how to handle any sightings of the skull, scientists Ariassa and Akiko went on to confirm that "under no circumstances" should you "introduce kith energy to the skull's environment" and that the skull should be "considered sentient, dangerous, and indestructible, for all intents and purposes!" Akiko went on to state, "When it is (activated by kith) it speaks in a language none present, nor our mindsims, could recognize. What language is it speaking, and from where, or when? It moves around of its own accord through means we do not yet understand - can it be observed doing so?"
These are questions no one seems to have the answer to, though we will keep you updated as we find out more!
Holgorath Ironbound, when questioned about the ongoing safety of the Blood Ark during this time of worry, firmly stated, "The ark and its people are my top priority, if anyone or anything threatens them they deal with me."
I must agree with Akiko that "this will be a fascinating investigation, and I hope to hear many voices answering its questions." Akiko went on to add, with a hint of trepidation beneath her well-practiced professional demeanor, "Well. Figuratively. The skull speaks in many voices and it is not pleasant."
Anyone with any information on the skull or its origins is being asked to direct it to Akiko, Ariassa, Rylek Ironbound, Shardclaw Dragonlord, or Lane Kaos at the Blood Ark.
