Player Contest: Reskin Kneecap!

Hi Starmourners!

One of the combat changes Zersiax has been working on is a revamping of the Kneecap ability for Scoundrels. The big change is that Kneecap will no longer damage the muscular subsystem, but the sensory one instead. (It will still interrupt channeled attacks). To that end, we've decided the ability doesn't even make sense as a kneecap-type move anymore.

If you want a chance to leave your mark on the game, we invite you to reskin the ability in a way that seems cool and appropriate to you.

Email Eukelade@starmourn.com with the following:

- A name for the ability
- A "Caster" message
- A "Target" message
- A "Third Person" message
- And an AB description.

The deadline is next Wednesday at Sync (December 16, 2020 at 7pm EST). We'll select the one we like best, announce the winner with suitable accolades, and plug the update into next Thursday's patch - gratification doesn't get much more instant than that.

Rules:

- One entry per person
- Be lore appropriate (this is a Scoundrel move, so it should have a Scoundrel flavor)
- Please include the name of your character in your submission so I know who you are!

Current Ability Messages for Kneecap (for writer reference!):

Caster message: "Diving into a ducking roll, you smash $(target$) in the side of the knee with your knuckledusters. You get to your feet while $(lhe$) is distracted, popping the empty clip of your piece out and sliding a new one home with a satisfying click."

Target message: "Diving into a ducking roll, $(caster$) gets past your defenses to smash you in the side of the knee with $(his$) knuckledusters, the white-hot pain of crunching cartilage and bone a breathtaking distraction. When you manage to turn around, $(he$) is smirking at you, $(his$) weapon reloaded with a fresh clip."

Room Message: "$+(caster$) dives into a ducking roll, smashing $(target$) in the side of the knee with $(his$) knuckledusters. In the distraction of $(his$) foe's suffering, $(he$) pops the clip of $(his$) piece, getting to $(his$) feet again with a callous smirk and a freshly reloaded weapon."

We can't wait to see what you all come up with. Good luck, and have fun!
